On the occasion of WYP 2005, the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ARST) in collaboration with the Egyptian Relativity Group (ERG) will hold an international meeting entitled “Developing and Extending Einstein’s Ideas”.

The meeting will be held in Cairo, Egypt during the third week of December 2005 with three full  days of scientific activities. The aim of the meeting is twofold:

The first is to memorialize the great achievements of Albert Einstein. This will include theoretical, experimental, and observational aspects of Einstein’s work.

The second is to focus on Einstein’s ideas, especially those which gave negative results during his life time, e.g. his scheme of  using  geometries different from the conventional  Riemannian one. Some authors believe that such ideas have been exhausted and no longer useful. On the contrary, at this meeting such ideas are still actively being developed.

The dates of the meeting have been chosen to be near Christmas, in order to encourage participants who wish to celebrate Christmas in warm weather in upper Egypt ( Luxor / Aswan), near ancient Egyptian monuments, or in Hurghada on the Red Sea.

The organizers would like to thank the staff of  The Egyptian National S&T Information Network (ENSTINET), for their efforts and help in hosting this page.
